We have completed an upgrade on the 98. We have removed the old Optispark system due to problems finding reliable replacement Optispark units. We replaced the system with the Torqhead 24X LS Gen III PCM system. This also enabled us to update from OBD1 to OBD2 for diagnostics. View the photos of the updated engine.
Check out Torqhead LTD for complete information on their systems. Check out their Facebook page to read about a few conversions made using their systems.

The body and frame for the 98 are all Oldsmobile. The power train came from a 1995 Chevrolet Caprice with the 9C1 Special Equipment Options code for a police package vehicle. The car includes the original 98 full perimeter steel frame with the 9C1 oversized front and rear sway bars, high-output alternator, four wheel disc brakes, quick-ratio power steering and transmission and power steering oil coolers, stiffer body mounts, and true dual exhaust. Built from a rust free, Arizona car. The previous owner took the car to one of the Woodward Avenue cruises and has been driven on two Hot Rod Power Tours.
