We owned this car about 30 years. It was my first Mercedes. It had 75,000 miles on it when we bought it out of Amarillo, Texas. It had 224,644 miles when we sold it. A/C always blew ice cold with the York A/C compressor that was the best ever. We installed a new AM-FM-CD. We took special care of this old car. All the maintenances were made on schedule. It was last painted in 1989 and the paint still looked good when it was sold. With the 4-speed it is much peppier than a 220 with automatic. You drive it much like a Volkswagon and by using the shifting points on the speedometer you can easily learn the right time to shift. Very economical to run - in town from 22-24mpg and highway 28-30mpg. A fun car with a classic look.
UPDATE: January 25, 2010. We sold this car today to a nice young lady who appreciates the car. Richard gave her a lesson on taking care of the car and we are hope she will take good care of our baby. If she doesn't then she didn't deserve the car to begin with. It was a beautiful classic.
